    ‘It’s 1 O’Clock ,’ and he settled down to a delicious jam tart. When he had finished he looked at his watch. ‘COCK A DOODLE DOO!’
    ‘What time is it? ?’ asked the spiders .
    ‘It’s 2 O’Clock ,’ said Cosmo, ‘Time to spin your webs,’ and the spiders began to spin their silky webs.

    The next day Cosmo went to the bakery 'I am hungry, ’ he said as he flew.
    There was a new type of Custard Slice he wanted to try. But at the bakery Madam Marzipan was crying. Big tears rolled down her cheeks. ‘I am sad. ,’ she wailed pointing at her empty shelves.

    Cosmo was very disappointed indeed. There was not one cake in sight. Not a cream bun, a custard slice, a strawberry tart or blueberry muffin! Nothing.

    “I am so greedy ,’ he said to himself as he hopped off with an empty basket, ‘and now there are no cakes!’ he cried.

    And then Cosmo had a brilliant idea. He wasn’t quite sure why he hadn’t thought of it before. To make sure he never forgot the time again he began to draw a huge timetable .
